KUSD’s Virtual Backpack provides an outlet for the district and community organizations to share events, activities and resources with our families in one easy to access location. Materials and/or activities below may not be sponsored by KUSD or its personnel.
Organizations wanting to add an item to the Virtual Backpack should review the proceduresÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýBoard Policy 1520 prior to submitting requests as outlined.
Items that have expired or that are more than six months old will be removed to keep this page current. If items are removed, they may be resubmitted in alignment with the procedures above for review/consideration.

This is an engaging, strategic, fun-filled week to set the tone for the VERY BEST SUMMER (VBS). Through 4 days of exciting stories, crafts, games, snacks, small groups, and more, your elementary-aged kiddo will learn all about friendship, belonging, and purpose. We’ll have an absolute blast

Curtis Strange 9th Annual Learning Fair & Art Walk – May 14

Community members are invited to Curtis Strange to enjoy an evening of learning and discovery! There will be student demonstrations from over 100 Learning Fair participants and a huge display of student-created artwork. A light meal will be provided to all registered participants.

Middle school students are invited to attend a hands-on construction workshop where they also will learn about KUSD Career and Technical Education pathways. Participants must attend with an adult and will work together to build a bird feeder to take home! Free child care is available. Registration is required, but spots are limited, so register early!

Donate to Hunter Lee Hero’s – April 15 – June 1

For Hunter’s birthday, he is collecting BRAND NEW stuffed animals for the Kenosha Police Department between April 15 and June 1. These will be distributed to children that are in scary or unfortunate situations. This year he is trying to hit a goal of 1,200 donations. Any monetary donations or new stuffed animals will go directly to Hunter Lee Hero’s to help reach his goal.

Healthy, Happy & Active Families! – May 8

Tri My Best Triathlon – Aug. 11

A Triathlon for Children and Young Adults with Developmental Disabilities
This is a ‘swim/bike/run’ event for children (5 & up) and young adults with developmental disabilities including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, global delays, etc. ALL abilities are welcome, including those that may require the use of flotation devices, adapted bikes, walkers, power wheelchairs, and other assistive devices. All athletes will be paired up with volunteers to encourage, assist and ensure safety.

Honoring History events

At the end of this school year, the 51³Ô¹Ï 51³Ô¹Ï will have six schools closing, one merging with another, and one changing locations. To honor their legacy in our community, the district will be celebrating the history of each of the buildings impacted prior to the end of the school year.
All current and past students, staff and families, as well as general community members, are invited to celebrate the history of each of these schools in various ways. Most events are open house style, allowing individuals to move freely throughout.
